In the bustling city of Baltimore, where over 2500+ youth face the harsh realities of homelessness and instability, Springboard Youth Training Center stands as a lifeline and a promise of better tomorrows.
Through a multifaceted approach, we address the immediate needs of our youth while paving the way for long-term success. Our commitment to providing short-term and long-term housing ensures that no young person has to face the streets alone.
But we go beyond just housing; our supportive services offer holistic care, including mental health counseling and
essential life skills training, equipping our youth with the tools they need to thrive. Additionally, our vocational and workforce development programs provide valuable skills and employment opportunities, empowering our youth to build sustainable futures for themselves.

Our focus is to make sure Baltimore City’s youth have the readiness and resources to transition into adulthood successfully with permanent housing, employment stability and mental health support.
Who’s eligible for joining the Youth Training Center?
Youth individuals between the ages of 18-24 who have been navigated through the Baltimore Coordinated Entry System and have been matched back to Springboard or other permanent supportive housing providers for permanent housing voucher or placement.
Is there a cost for the Youth Training Center?
There is no cost to participate in the Youth Training Center programs. All services are provided through Springboard Community Services with the support of our donors, community partners and sponsors.
When will the Youth Training Center be available?
We’re targeted to complete this project by Spring 2027.
How does Springboard Youth Training Center fill a critical service gap?
Baltimore City faces a significant service gap, with thousands of homeless and unstably housed youth in need of support. Springboard’s Youth Training Center bridges this gap by offering safe, affordable pathways to transitional and permanent housing, stable employment opportunities, and wrap-around services tailored to the unique needs of unhoused youth.
Where is the Youth Training Center located?
The SCS Youth Training Center will be located at 206-210 E. Lexington Street, Baltimore, MD in the heart of Baltimore’s Central Business District–across the street from the Cummings Courthouse and City Hall. Originally the site of the Frederick Douglass Institute between 1865-1890, the site will build upon a legacy of education, training and support for the community’s disenfranchised. Centrally located to serve those from the East and West Sides of Baltimore, this location is accessible through numerous forms of public transportation and close to numerous amenities, employment and training partners.
